How should a Catania SiC mandate distinguish a funded fabrication expansion from evidence about the exact role and candidate market?
The verified signal — external facts
Two different Catania investments are often collapsed into one story. An EU recovery programme page describes a €730 million SiC-substrate facility, including a target of at least 700 direct jobs and additional production of 374,400 six-inch substrates a year by the end of the second quarter of 2026.
Separately, the European Commission approved about €2 billion of Italian aid for a planned €5 billion integrated SiC campus using 200 mm wafers. The Commission decision says the project is intended to cover the chain from material to power devices and modules and is expected to reach full capacity in 2032.
The Commission also records workforce training and supply-chain spillovers among the project's commitments. Those commitments do not establish current vacancy counts, offer-rejection rates or salary levels for a particular Catania employer.
