The buyer question
We need warehouse, customs-brokerage or corridor-logistics leadership in Kraljevo. What do the primary sources establish about this market, and how should a mandate there be structured?
What the sources establish
Kraljevo is the seat of the Raška administrative district. The Uredba o upravnim okruzima (Službeni glasnik RS 15/2006) lists Kraljevo, Novi Pazar, Raška, Vrnjačka Banja and Tutin as the district's territory and names Kraljevo as its seat. The city sits at the confluence of the West Morava and Ibar rivers in central Serbia, and its administrative territory had 110,196 inhabitants at the 2022 census.
The Belgrade–Bar railway links Belgrade with the Montenegrin port of Bar. The Požega article describes a junction in Požega between the Belgrade–Bar line and the Kraljevo–Čačak–Užice line. The sources reviewed do not show how Kraljevo's own rail traffic reaches that junction, so the routing is an open question below.
The sources reviewed for this page do not establish the city's unemployment rate, free-zone company count, warehouse schedules or vacancy durations. Each is listed as an open question below.
What this means for a mandate
A territory of about 110,000 people is a regional labour market rather than a national one. Our reading is that senior candidates for Kraljevo roles are likely to come from across central Serbia and from Belgrade, so the search should reach beyond the city from the start. That is an analytical judgement. The population figure measures total residents, not the working-age pool or the skills available within it.
Corridor logistics in Kraljevo depends on the buyer's own freight flows. A mandate should name the lanes, rail connections and customs regimes the role has to run, because the sources do not show which of them carry volume.
KiTalent's mandate analysis
- Warehouse and distribution leadership. Screen for systems and results a candidate has delivered: WMS implementations, inventory accuracy measures and the number of clients or sites run. Ask for evidence, not a throughput figure alone.
- Customs and AEO brokerage. Verify licences and certifications directly with the issuing authority rather than relying on the CV.
- Rail-intermodal planning. Require rail experience only where the buyer's flows use rail. Confirm the routing and slot access with the rail operator before writing the requirement.
- Pay and competition. This page carries no pay data. Benchmark senior pay against current salary surveys for Serbia and Belgrade, not against assumptions about Kraljevo.
- Demand sizing. Size corridor and warehouse needs from the buyer's own volumes and contracts, not from district-level assumptions.
Open questions before committing to a mandate
- What was the 2022 registered headcount in transport and storage for the city? The Statistical Office's 2023 municipal yearbook (publication G202313050) is the source to check.
- How is Kraljevo's rail traffic routed to the Požega junction, and what capacity and timetable apply? The infrastructure operator's current network documents are the source to confirm.
- What is the current unemployment rate for the Raška district? The labour-force releases reviewed publish regional series; no district-level rate was found.
- How long do senior logistics roles take to fill in Kraljevo today? The sources hold no dated figure for this.
- When are any warehouse, free-zone or road projects in Kraljevo expected to open? Confirm each with the developer or the local authority.
